Paphiopedilum callosum
In evergreen forests at about 500 m to 1200 m altitude, this terrestrial species - flowering between July and August , can be found all over S.E. Asia.
The solitary flower is about 6 to 8 cm across the penducle erect, 25 to 30 cm, , dark purple and hairy. The dorsal sepal is white with longitudinal reddish-purplish-green stripes. Petals are oblong, falcate, hairy with dark brown spots. The lip is brownish-reddish-purple.
